Hair Inspiration

I need to do something with my hair!  I have never had hair this long before and I'm not quite ready to cut if off just yet. (Trust me when I say the pixie cut does nothing for my face.  I've done it before).  Here are some inspiring hair styles that are preventing me from chopping off my hair.  Surprisingly, these were all runway styles and seem quite easy to pull off!  Which one do you like?  I'm loving the first and last pictures especially.

Anna Sui Spring 2012

source

I gasped when I saw Anna Sui's Spring 2012 collection.  I love the 1930s silhouettes and many of the dresses and rompers themselves are ethereal, but the addition of the eye-popping headpieces, necklaces, and other jewelry really makes her collection stand out.  The edginess juxtaposed with the sweetness really brought her collection together. LOVE!

Which look is your favorite?  I can't decide!

Hair Envy

photos source

When I was pregnant, no one told me that I would go bald after I had the baby.  That's a slight hyperbole, but I do have massive hair loss happening over here and it does not seem to stop.  Instead, I now have weird baby hairs growing all over, so I have to keep my bangs to cover my forehead and I'm trying to grow my hair out for the first time in years.  After looking at these runway models with their lustrous hair and hair extensions, I developed hair envy.  I wish I had thicker hair and I wish I knew how to do a cute pony tail/updo.  My poor daughter Jessie will be the only girl in class with uneven pigtails, unbraided because mama does not know how to french braid.  Sad.

Which hairstyle do you like the most?  I'm really feeling the streak of blonde on the Asian girl...

Christian Dior Resort 2011

pictures courtesy of Elle

I do love when there is a vintage revival, but I have to admit, I don't quite fully like this season's Resort collection from Christian Dior.  I love most elements like the scalloped edges, oversized bows, and tiered skirts.  But, some of the looks scream "BARBIE" to me, especially with the color palette of bright electric pink.   But, what do I know, right?  What do you guys think?

Alexander Berardi Spring 2011

Spring is just around the corner and Alexander Berardi's Spring 2011 RTW collection makes me pine for spring even more.  I know many people love bundling up in beautiful coats and boots, but I am a California girl all the way through, and also 7 months pregnant, and can't wait to step into the strappy comfortable sandals that allow my legs to breathe, and flowy dresses that don't constrict my non-existent waist.

I usually gravitate toward runway fashions that bring back the 50s and 60s, but this collection channels the 70s, which is a decade that is definitely growing on me.  The flowy butterfly sleeves and the gladiator sandals, along with the strappy espadrilles really make me want spring more! Can't wait!

Perfect for California Weather

I was looking at this Pre-Fall 2011 Bally Collection and I just thought how perfect this runway look was for winter in southern California.  Although from the periphery, I love how other states have snowy winters, when I actually set foot on weather colder than 50 degrees, I can't stop complaining.  Yes, I'm spoiled and I'm a weather snob.

Once again, I gravitate towards fashion with clean lines and tailoring and still has some of the vintage feel.  Once I have my baby, I want to start my spin classes and strength endurance training so I can go back to wearing those pencil skirts and oh how I love how they used a skinny belt on coats!  That is definitely another thing I would like to try once I get my waist back.  Enjoy!

Vintage Revival- Oscar de la Renta

I literally gasped looking through Oscar de la Renta's 2011 Spring Ready-to-wear collection.  The color palette is so light and airy and the tailoring is so crisp and clean.  This collection is the perfect blend of the 50s and early 60s with a modern feel from the colors, prints, and accessories.  I don't know which my favorite look is, but if I had lots of money to spend, I'd want them all.

This collection just makes me that much more excited about 2011 and what it will bring.  Enjoy!
