Some Favorites of 2011

Favorite Dress Sold- miss this dress and wish I could have worn it somewhere.

Favorite Life Changing Event- I would have put this picture first, but didn't want to scare anyone off.  This was definitely by far my favorite life changing event of 2011.  As you can tell, I'm overcome with emotion after seeing my daughter, Jessie, for the first time.  I am so blessed.

Favorite Family Picture- I know I've already shown this one to you, but I realized that we really don't have very many family pictures and this one's pretty awesome, in my opinion.  This was actually used in our Christmas card this year.  We were the only ones with Grover and Elmo. yes!

New Favorite Online Shop- I love this shop and have bought from it several times this past year.  I love this shop even more because it is owned and run by my good friend, Christy.  Like myself, she has a daughter and son and is passionate about working from home so that she could be the best mom she could be.

Favorite Item Still in the Shop- pictures just don't do this dress justice.  The quality of the material of this dress and the intricate ruffles and lace details are so sweet.  Also, the cut of the dress is very flattering.

Favorite Dress I Will List in 2012- yes, this may be a bit premature, but this 1950s dress is simply amazing and my friend, Linda, looks gorgeous in it, no?  It is heavy cotton with gold and black painted on it with amazing designs and sequins. I have yet to find such a dress as special as this one.  This dress will be listed next week, but if you are interested, shoot me an email.
I will be back tomorrow with my 2012 goals (not resolutions) but do you have any favorites for 2011?  If you did a post, please post the link in the comments section!  I would love to read it!

Friday's Favorite Street Styles

This image was taken on The Sartorialist weeks ago, but I just stumbled upon it this past week and it's my favorite outfit of the week for several reasons. First, I love the vintage look with the ankle boots and airy, hot weather appropriate vintage looking dress.  Second, I love dresses.  I wear dresses like 6 out of the 7 days of the week during summer.

Kasia looks so hip and cool in these high waisted camel colored shorts, the straw fedora, and her sunglasses!  You can't see the sunglasses well in this shot, but the lenses' are the shapes of hearts!

Maryna Linchuk from Stockholm Streetstyle is so fun in this shot, and so is her outfit!  The other clothing I love for fall and summer are blazers, but I've not really paired one with shorts.  I have to admit though, I'm not a fan of short shorts with pockets sticking out, but it looks great on her. But, she's a model.

I love the color combo of tangerine and olive from Fashion Chalet and how she broke up a solid colored dress with that wrap sweater.  This outfit is completely affordable and the bag is vintage!

Share your favorite outfits, or do you love any of these?

Friday's Favorites from the Shop

I've been on a dress listing rampage this past week.  So many more gorgeous vintage dresses await in my shop at the moment.  But, the above dresses grab my attention the most for now. The last dress has had over 3,000 views and currently holds the record for the most hearts out of all the items in my shop-83!

What's ridiculous is I'm set on buying even more vintage dresses for the shop at the Long Beach Antique Fair this Sunday.  I really should stop, because I have even more to list, but I can't.  Anyone else have the same problem?

Friday's Favorite-Shirtwaist Dress

I recently saw this picture on Elle's Daily Street Chic e-mails that get sent to me, well, daily.  I love the timeless elegance and chicness a good shirtwaist dress brings.  It is so versatile and can be worn on many different occassions and can be styled in various ways.

This particular person's dress is not vintage, but takes such vintage elements.  She combines her vintage-esque Oscar de la Renta dress with a vintage scarf, a roach pin, and some tall stilettos. She looks amazing!  I have many shirtwaist dresses in my closet, some vintage, some not, but this picture makes me want to go buy another one on Etsy and a pretty scarf to match it.
