Happy New Years!

Happy New Years, friends!  God has certainly poured His blessings upon my family and me in 2012.  I love my family more, I love my business more, and I'm 30 (that's still bittersweet, actually).  I don't know why, but I'm extremely excited for 2013.  I have many ideas and goals that I am eager to begin and achieve.  Here are some:

1. Read the entire Bible.
2. Reach 2000 sales in the shop.
3. Take a picture of my kids everyday in 2013.
4. Workout 2x a week, or maybe 2x a month.  Whichever is easier.  Probably the latter. Ha.

Do you guys have any goals/resolutions?  I don't know if I will be able to follow through with all of these, but  I definitely will try.  (at least for now since life seems to be running a bit more smoothly.)

Have a safe and fabulous New Years!  I will be spending it with my hubs, a bottle of champagne, and my tv/ipad while my kiddos rest soundly in bed.

xo,
Anna

This Week I Will...

I'm keeping the weekly goals list because they seem to work.  I was quite productive last week and completed every item on my list, except for the breakfast nachos one because the chips ended up being stale.  That was disappointing.

I can't believe that it's already the middle of the week, but I still have a set of goals I want to complete, or at least begin.  This week, I will...

list at least 10 more pieces of vintage, hopefully colorful, like the above heels

try out this kale meatball soup, which will be perfect with the imminent rain, find here

finally try out this Japanese ramen place, which I've been craving for a week

obtain this book and at least start reading it.  Knowing me, I'll finish it in 2 days though because I won't be able to put it down.

I also want to start having a set time each day to really read to my own kids.  With one kid, it was much easier to be more intentional with the time spent.  But, with two kids, a bigger house, and a business, distractions prevent me from capitalizing on my mommy role.  Once again, I need to remind myself that one of the main reasons my husband and I decided that I should stay home was to raise my children.  With the rainy week ahead, it will definitely give me an opportunity to spend some quality time with the kids at home.

I should get started on these goals ASAP since it's almost Wednesday over here.  Anyone have a special goal for this week?  Please share in the comments below!

This Week, I Will ...

Life keeps getting busier and busier and I feel I'm becoming less productive or maybe just inefficient?  Not sure which, but I work well with accountability and goals, so this week, I will...

make breakfast nachos with chorizo since I have a ginormous bag of chips (source)

finish my taxes (source)

list at least 10 new items (you can find this cute dress here)

take both my kids to the zoo.  This was the last time I was at the zoo and that was when Jessie was still in my belly and Jonah was 2.  Can't believe that was over a year ago!

I'll let you know if I did these goals by Saturday and hopefully document each.  Each week, I'd like to have a goal that targets the family, kids, cooking, and work.   I've been extremely unproductive due to my obsession with Netflix and it's quite disturbing.  So, blog world, keep me accountable please!

Makeovers for 2012

photo taken by me

Instead of using the term "resolution," I will be using the term "makeover" for my goals for 2012.  I don't do well with resolutions, but makeovers seem fun.

Anyhow, as you can tell by my blog, that was my first makeover.  I've finally figured out how to maximize my pictures, like the one taken above with my new iphone.  I'm pretty excited to blog for 2012.  I have some new things I want to blog which are geared more towards moms, but can be relatable to all women- fast homecooked meals, fashionable moms, as well as continuing my quest on finding the super stay at home mothers.

My second personal "makeover"- entering the smartphone world.  I was pretty stubborn about not getting a smartphone because I didn't find it necessary to pay extra charges and thought it would take time away from my daily duties.  But, i've realized how much more I can capture of my kids because of this little contraption.  I've been having a hard time taking photos and videos of Jessie, my daughter, but I've already taken more videos and pictures in 24 hours of her than I have in 2 months.

her poo face. I hope she doesn't hate me for posting this when she grows up.

her smile makes me smile.

Third makeover- get toned.  I asked my husband to buy me the crazy cardio workout collection called "Insanity" as my push present.  Well, being the good husband that he is, he did and it's been 8 months and I've only done 10 minutes of it, which by the way kicked my ass.  So, my goal isn't to lose however many pounds.  It's to finish this crazy workout.  I pray that I don't die.

Speaking of prayer, that will be my next makeover- my prayer life along with reading the Bible.  Yes, I love Jesus and I attend church and I don't want to be a Christian that only prays and reads the Bible on Sundays.  So, I would like to makeover my spiritual life by reading and journaling at least once a week.  That seems so small, but so often I've made these hefty goals and resolutions and never followed through.  But, I think once a week is definitely achievable.

My last makeover will be my shop.  I started the shop at the end of 2009 and life has been full of so many "new" events that after 2 years, I feel like I'm just getting the hang of running the shop.  When I started, I was a new mother.  Then, we bought a new house and I became pregnant a few months after that.  I finally have a schedule set with my two kids and both are sleep trained, so my shop will receive the attention it deserves.  I will also be getting a new dress form and hopefully a new camera while modeling more with my new toned body. ha.

Sorry for the long post, but it will be the last for 2011.  Happy new years, readers!  I wish you the best 2012!  Do you have any "makeovers" planned?
