Vacation Part 2- A Wedding

I went up to Norcal for the vintage and family, but also because the hub's good friend from college got married.  He's the last of their college crew and we were glad to be a part of the couple's special day.

The venue was at a winery in Livermore, and as you can tell, it was gorgeous.  It got a bit chilly when the sun went down, but we kept warm with a little bit of dancing and a little bit of alcohol (alot for some).

I'm a bit flushed in one of the above pictures because I have the Asian curse of turning red after having one drink.  Needless to say, I had to post that picture because it's one of the few pictures where my hubs is somewhat normal, unlike the last picture where yet again, he had to make a weird face.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Special Wedding

Jonah and the flower girls!

Bridal party.  LOVED their dresses!

Jonah walking down as ring boy.  So proud of him!

Special moment between father-daughter before they walked down the aisle.

My brother-in-law got married this past weekend, hence the lack of updates and posts or anything!  Gorgeous weather, gorgeous bride, gorgeous wedding.  This was the first wedding I attended where everything was DIY- EVERYTHING! The bride, my new sister-in-law, is one of the most creative people I know and I wish I was able to take pictures of the all the hanging lights, mason jars, floral arrangements, s'mores party favors, signs, etc., but it was a busy busy day/night so I will have to wait for the professional photos to come out.

The entire ceremony and reception took place in the backyard of my SIL's childhood home and it was transformed beautifully by the bridal party and her parents.  Yes, the scenery was pretty, but the ceremony stole the show and had everyone in tears, well almost everybody.  My husband said he tried to keep his composure by thinking of baseball.  I'm a lucky woman.  Anyhow,  I don't think I've attended such a personal and emotional wedding as this one and I felt very blessed to witness the union of these two.

I have to brag about my son.  I really didn't give him quite enough credit because I thought he'd be one of those kids that would freeze in the middle of the aisle or run or cry.  But, he carried the sign to the side, just like I told him to, and made it without any tears or hesitation.  I'm sad I wasn't able to see it completely because I had to give him the cue to walk, but I was so proud of him!  He looked so small walking down the aisle and I was already crying at that point.  They grow up so fast!

I won't go into the specifics of who cried and why everyone cried, but it was beautiful and I'm so happy for these two!  By the way, I don't like admitting these things, but I think my hubs looks pretty cute in a bow tie. Haha.

6 Years Ago, I Married My Best Friend

I can't believe it's already been 6 years since January 14, 2006- the day I married my best friend.  I won't lie and say this marriage has been a cake walk.  In fact, there has been many challenges and struggles like every other marriage has had.  However, I can now say that if it weren't for the hardships God placed in our lives, our marriage wouldn't be as strong as it is now.  I know I married the right man for me and I love him more now than I did six years ago.  I mean it.  Enough of the sap. Gross.

But damn, we look young in this pictures.  We were!  I was 23 and Mo was 26.  I feel even older because these pictures are a bit grainy, like it was taken ages ago, or something.

Hope everyone will have a wonderful week!  Don't forget to enter my giveaway below!

Love,
Anna

First Night Away

This past weekend, my husband and I attended a wedding of some good friends of ours from church.  It was the first time we left Jessie for a long period of time, and I have to say, my heart ached leaving her.  But, as you can tell by the picture, we ended up having a good time.  Jessie did not, but thank goodness she can't remember.

I received many compliments on the dress, which I purchased online from Lulu's.  I searched for a vintage dress, but my body just wasn't ready yet to fit into those 1950s dresses I adore.  This dress had a relaxed fit on the bust and waist, which worked perfectly.

And yes, my husband is apparently a happy drunk, and yes, that is him showing his nipples. Good times.

The Ugliest Face I've Made with the Prettiest Dress I've Worn

My title is self explanatory.  I purchased this glam 50s cocktail dress from one of my favorite Etsy shops, Raleigh Vintage, for a March wedding in New York of some good friends.  That wedding and trip was one of the most fun weddings I've attended.  Can't you tell by the picture?  My glass is empty, my mouth is wide open while dancing, and I have no idea who those people are.  Fun night.  Here are some pictures where my face doesn't ruin the dress! haha.
