I attended a vintage appointment today of a lady who saved pretty much every single clothing from the 40s to the present. She had 3 daughters and she seemed to have kept all their pretty little vintage dresses, also, and I just couldn't resist. Maybe it's my hormones or maybe I really want a daughter, but I just bought a whole bunch of little girl vintage dresses and they are just the most adorable things!
The problem is, I don't have a daughter (yet) and I'm not sure whether I should open up a new Etsy shop or just add a little toddler section to my existing Etsy SHOP. I would really appreciate your ideas and opinions!
Seriously, any advice would be appreciated!
How CUTE! Those dresses are just darling! Hmm, well since you've already built a clientele through your current etsy shop why not just add a section? Maybe you can name that section a cute name you would use if you were ever to do another Etsy shop just for children's vintage clothing. You can try that for now and if later you feel the need to start another one, you always can.
ReplyDeleteAw, what sweet dresses! Like you, I have no girls (or boys) but I love buying vintage kiddo clothes. Right now I have 3 boxes stored in the top of my closet as a "maybe someday" stash. Ha!
ReplyDeleteAs for your shop, I agree with Lidi. You already have a customer base and can always open another shop if need be. Good luck! :)
thanks girls for the comments! i think i will do what you guys said!
ReplyDeleteOf course a new shop would be just the thing!
ReplyDeletei would add a section in your shop for kids clothes...that way if you decide not to buy more you can just change the section back and not have to have an empty shop sitting around...
ReplyDeletehi! haven't visited you in a while and wow you have been busy and growing! (your belly of course) i can't wait for your section of girls vintage. i already am eyeing a couple of things from your preview pictures for my audrey~!
ReplyDeleteI agree with the ladies above, it would be safer to see if there's a market for vintage children's clothes first before opening a separate Etsy shop. People can be a bit funny about what they dress their kids in and it would be a shame to go to all the hassle of opening a new shop, only for it to bomb! If you find you're making a lot of sales from your children's section, you can always open a separate shop later :-)
ReplyDeleteP.S. I think my ovaries might have exploded with joy looking at those photos!
