The Future of Fashion

I actually already shared this on my Facebook page, but I was entertained watching this clip made in the 1930s predicting what women would be wearing in the year 2000.  Here are my thoughts.

1. Can't believe the year 2000 was 12 years ago!
2. The "hair-raising" is not far off from the trendy top buns today.
3. Love the shoes and the interesting wedge heels.
4. Not a fan of the "electric head light" to catch an honest man because it's silly and it will not work.
5. I find it hilarious there were so many ideas for regulating body temperature like the electric belt.
6. I still found the outfits amazing to look at.

What are your thoughts and did you find the clothing as fun and pretty to look at as I did?

Bold Wood and Brass 1970s Necklace

After stocking the shop up with pretty whites and pastels, I decided to put a little more bold and colorful items in.  I know the coat and dress set is white, but you've got to be bold to wear white linen and an amazing coat as that one!

Also, the shop is on sale for only one more week.  Beginning in August, I will be slowly downsizing to prepare for my fab.com sale in September, so if you're eyeing something, I suggest you purchase it soon before it's out of the shop!

Enjoy the vintage goodies!

I actually am listing many more white and light pieces into the shop this upcoming week, so if you like this color palette, be on the look out!

Sneak Peek

Here are some tidbits to what will be coming into the shop the next couple of days.  Which one intrigues you the most?

Also, can someone tell me what the print is on the second picture?  It's from the 1930s/40s and the print is so interesting and eerie to me.

1950s Designer Jacquard Red Party Dress

Wow, haven't had a shop update in a while.  I'm stocking the shop back up with dresses and adding children's vintage to the mix again, so stay tuned!

Whenever I see the green shirtwaist dress, I want to wear it and take a mother-daughter picture with the little girl's green dress below it.  Cheesy, but cute.  But, neither of the dresses fit me nor my daughter, so I will just have to think of another outfit to wear in my imaginary mother-daughter pictures.

If you see anything you like, the shop is having a 15% off Christmas in July sale, so take a look!

Weekend of Flea Markets

Isn't she gorgeous?

You can't tell, but these were miniature chairs that I was tempted to buy for the kids.  But, then I realized that the kids would eventually grow up and then all I'd have were miniature chairs.

I just thought this chimpanzee was cute.

Laughed out loud at these.

Shoes and more shoes.  There's a camera crew following around a woman in a pink dress in the far right.  Not sure who she was though.

The dress that got away.  Crossing fingers that she'll be back in the next flea market, but doubt it.

This past weekend, I visited 3 antique flea markets to make up for the last two weeks of vintage idleness due to other engagements.

I will have a sneak peek this week with some of the loot, and let me tell you, I'm excited with these finds.

For now, I wanted to show you some of the antiques and vintage clothes from the Long Beach Antique Market.  My one regret is not purchasing the last dress.  I ran out of time in the morning and had no time to run back to this dress.  What's wrong with me?

Do you readers like flea markets or do you tend to avoid them?  I've never been to the Long Beach Flea in the morning like this and it was packed!  If I had more time, I think I would have enjoyed it more.  But, since I was on a time crunch to get to church on time, it was a bit stressful, but well worth it.

Isn't the woman in the 2nd picture gorgeous?  Enjoy!

If no one buys these items by the end of summer, they will be mine. Muahaha.

Special Wedding

Jonah and the flower girls!

Bridal party.  LOVED their dresses!

Jonah walking down as ring boy.  So proud of him!

Special moment between father-daughter before they walked down the aisle.

My brother-in-law got married this past weekend, hence the lack of updates and posts or anything!  Gorgeous weather, gorgeous bride, gorgeous wedding.  This was the first wedding I attended where everything was DIY- EVERYTHING! The bride, my new sister-in-law, is one of the most creative people I know and I wish I was able to take pictures of the all the hanging lights, mason jars, floral arrangements, s'mores party favors, signs, etc., but it was a busy busy day/night so I will have to wait for the professional photos to come out.

The entire ceremony and reception took place in the backyard of my SIL's childhood home and it was transformed beautifully by the bridal party and her parents.  Yes, the scenery was pretty, but the ceremony stole the show and had everyone in tears, well almost everybody.  My husband said he tried to keep his composure by thinking of baseball.  I'm a lucky woman.  Anyhow,  I don't think I've attended such a personal and emotional wedding as this one and I felt very blessed to witness the union of these two.

I have to brag about my son.  I really didn't give him quite enough credit because I thought he'd be one of those kids that would freeze in the middle of the aisle or run or cry.  But, he carried the sign to the side, just like I told him to, and made it without any tears or hesitation.  I'm sad I wasn't able to see it completely because I had to give him the cue to walk, but I was so proud of him!  He looked so small walking down the aisle and I was already crying at that point.  They grow up so fast!

I won't go into the specifics of who cried and why everyone cried, but it was beautiful and I'm so happy for these two!  By the way, I don't like admitting these things, but I think my hubs looks pretty cute in a bow tie. Haha.
