Entirely Thrifted

I've recently fallen in love with saddlebag purses, especially because I noticed all the lead actresses in the korean dramas wearing this particular accessory.  Of course when I flip through my issue of Lucky, they list several options, all of which cost well over couple hundred dollars.

So, this is why I love thrifting.  I found the purse I wanted for insanely cheap and it is mine.  There are 4 little compartments inside, which keep me organized!  I never have to be afraid of anything falling out when I bend over to pick up my baby or anything she dropped.  It is practical, stylish, and I am delighted with my find.  May I add, my entire outfit is thrifted and mommy friendly, which is an added bonus.

Black vintage saddlebag purse: thrifted

Thrifting allows me to have the little "splurges" on myself without feeling guilty. I don't know about the other moms out there, but ever since I've had kids, I rarely spend any money on buying clothing for myself and if I do, I feel bad. I really started thrifting about 3 years ago, after I stopped teaching, and it's been really fun and I think my style has evolved for the better. I mean it when I say I really do love thrifting and love that it's part of my "job."

Anyone else have some great thrift scores as of late? Would love to hear about them!

DVF ♥ GapKids

I was browsing online and came upon the new DVF collection for Gapkids and Babygap. DVF, famous for her wrap dresses from the 70s, designed some wrap dresses and rompers for your favorite little gal, also, along with dresses, onesies, and separates. Just wanted to share and there's a 25% off spring sale going on that ends today!  Although quite affordable for being designer wear, I still can't get myself to buy my explosive poopster, meal rubber on face daughter anything that costs over $20 at this moment because I know she will soil it and grow out of it within a couple of months.  You love it or pass?

How to Fold a T-shirt in 2 Seconds

I literally have 6 loads of laundry to fold right now and I wish I knew how to do this beforehand.  I will definitely have to practice this technique when I have time, but when will that be?  I wish learning it would take 2 seconds. Anyone try this?

It's been several weeks since my last shop update.  I still have reds and pinks creeping in due to an overflow from Valentine's Day I guess.  I got a little pink and red happy this year.  I think it has to do with having a daughter.  Good thing pairing red and pink seems to be the trend this season, which I have to admit is actually nice to look at.  Enjoy the shop update and click on the captions to take you to the item!

I'm dying over these vintage baby clothes from one of my favorite vintage kids clothing shops, VintageAga.  Her picks are ridiculously cute and extremely affordable and currently, she's having a 30% off moving sale.  All you need to do is use the coupon code "ONTHEGO30" during checkout to receive your discount.

By the way, how cute is the boys shirt with bow tie? LOVE!

Every Mother Needs A Little Time Away

I've been MIA and these are little snippets of what I've been up to:

taking my kids to the park to feed the ducks
pushing my rapidly growing kids on the swing

I don't know if this one enjoyed it that much.  It was her first time.

watching season 1 of this AMAZING and addicting show. LOVE LOVE LOVE it!

watching this silly little romantic comedy- mindless but entertaining show and a good way to wind down the day.

My Palm Springs weekend getaway extended to a two week furlough from the shop.  I don't regret it.  I've definitely lost followers of this blog and the views to my shop have dramatically dropped (although sales haven't since the entire shop is on sale right now), yet I'm okay.  You probably can't tell by my little summary of what I did while I was MIA, but I felt the last two weeks were productive because I really spent some quality time with the kids and finally got some cleaning and organizing done around the house that I've been meaning to do for at least a year!  I also read more to my kids and I've been teaching Jonah how to read.  He can sound out simple 3 letter words for now. I'm proud of him.

Also, life has been hectic ever since this little one's started to crawl.  Can you tell she likes her new found freedom?

I watched more tv than I have in the last year, also.  I don't think I will be doing that again, but I don't feel guilty spending a week to do some mindless tv watching at the end of a crazy day.  Moms will understand, but it's okay to veg at the end of the day.  It's deserved.

I have NOT been listing items or taking pictures for the shop.  But, that all changes this week.  I'm back to blogging and I'm back to working on the shop diligently to prepare for my hubs birthday coming up and to hopefully plan a trip back up to Norcal to visit my parents.  So, look for some shop updates and hello again!

Palm Springs ~ Part 2

Yes, Jessie's wearing a boy's jacket.  I think this picture may be a potential Christmas card for 2012.

I think Jessie's trying to taste the snow.

For days, Jonah begged to make a snowman so Mo and my brother made him one while I held Jessie in the ergo while she napped.

Mo figured out that it's quicker to roll the snowball.  But then it got really heavy.

Jonah begged me to get closer so he could throw a snowball at me. I really didn't want to.

Their ugly snowman.

We took this crazy aerial tram up to the mountains in Palm Springs to show our kiddos snow for the first time.  Can you tell it was gorgeous? It really was. Nevermind that I had the wrong shoes and experienced near frostbite. It was all worth it!  I can't wait to come back next year.
