What A Difference a Year Makes

Usually, I post pictures of my son and how fast he's growing, and it's true- time flies.

This time, I'm referring to myself.  My husband and I were looking through these photos and he told me I looked so young in these pics.  It was only 1 1/2 years ago, a month after I opened my Etsy shop.  I do look a lot younger in these pictures. What the heck?!?! How'd I age so much?  I guess that's what happens when trying to run a business while watching a toddler.  But, it's still been one of the best years of my life and I feel very blessed and thankful.  Plus, I'm sure a facial and shedding my pregnancy weight will get me looking a little younger again, right?  Hope so. Ha.

Also, I wish I still had that vintage cardigan I'm wearing in these pictures.  It was so comfortable and versatile. Why in the world did I sell it?  I have learned my lesson.  If I wear it more than once, I'm keeping it, or at least until another similar item comes along.

Ok, enough complaining.

Add a Little Color

I love the arrival of spring and all the colors and prints!  My shop is experiencing a burst of color and everything is 10% off  until the end of May as a way of saying sorry for not updating the shop or blog very much due to my inability to stay awake.  I'm having a really hard time gathering up energy to take care of my toddler while preparing the house for Jessie while taking care of my husband.  So, the shop is taking a backseat for the moment, but I do have so many lovely spring dresses to list!   I can't wait to show them to you.   For now, please enjoy the sale and the lovely colorful items!

Mom and Son Fun Day

As my due date approaches, I become a little more sad for my son.  I know it's silly, but I love him very much and it makes me sad to think he will have to share the spotlight.  Of course adding a family member is a joyous occasion, but to a 2 year old, it may not be.  I know he will be fine and an amazing big brother, but the times he and I get to spend just the two of us are ending very soon, so I want to take him out, even though I look like the whale suspended from the ceiling of the aquarium.

Here are a few pictures of some of our favorite moments at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.

The only picture we took together came out blurry. I'm wearing a vintage 1970s peasant top that will go in the shop after I give birth.  It's really cute! Oh, and Heidi Klum maternity skinny jeans, Forever 21 purple cardigan, vintage moccasins (thrifted), and vintage bag (deargolden vintage).

His fish face.

So excited to touch the little sharks and sting rays!

Jonah puts his hand in his mouth if something makes him nervous.  I think the big whale caused this behavior.

Of course he's excited over Nemo.

Thanks for reading!

Christian Dior Resort 2011

pictures courtesy of Elle

I do love when there is a vintage revival, but I have to admit, I don't quite fully like this season's Resort collection from Christian Dior.  I love most elements like the scalloped edges, oversized bows, and tiered skirts.  But, some of the looks scream "BARBIE" to me, especially with the color palette of bright electric pink.   But, what do I know, right?  What do you guys think?

My Goal Dress

I recently acquired this stunning 1950s, 60s blue sateen dress at an estate sale.  It's definitely pricier than what I usually am willing to pay, but I just couldn't pass it up and I knew that I would have to wear this dress somewhere one day.  Initially, I decided that I wanted to wear this to my friend's wedding in July.  But, the dress barely fit over my dress form and I realized that if I tried to achieve that goal, I would be sorely disappointed.  To wear this dress, I'm going to have to hit the gym and return back to my really fit days and so I shall, all because I want to wear this dress someday.

So, I'm going to try to fit into this dress by next Valentine's Day.  That gives me about 9 months to shed all my weight and become fit.  I shed 40 pounds in 10 months in my pregnancy with Jonah just by breastfeeding and not working out, so I think I can achieve this goal.  No, not think, I will!

Family Fun Day and Baby Bump

Warning: there is an overflow of pictures in this post.

Before baby #2 pops out of me, my husband and I decided to take a short day trip to the Wild Animal Park in Escondido, CA on the hottest day of the year, yet.  It was actually a lot of fun and although I am extremely curious and excited to meet the little critter that's been kicking me for the past 34 weeks, I have to say I get a little bit misty-eyed when I think that my son's world is going to be rocked soon when he realizes he is not the center of attention anymore. He was a trooper and never complained and we had an amazing time. Here are some highlights from the trip with a little big picture of my baby bump at about 34 weeks!

Lots of baby elephants! Adorable!

My husband insisted on wearing 2 layers of SF Giants' shirts in the 90 degree heat.

Baby zebra born 6 days ago!

My son loves rhinos.

He had such a great time!

Thanks for looking and happy Friday!
