Bye Bye 2010

What a crazy, but blessed year it has been!

My son turned 1!

There he is in his hanbok for his 1st birthday.

My wonderful hubs turned 30 while we were in NY, which was extremely fun!
Actually, this was his birthday meal made by my mom before NY.

This was our family partying at a friend's wedding, which happened to be the day of his birthday. We had a great time!  Oh, and that's by far my favorite vintage dress from RaleighVintage, which Trudy from Mad Men also wore a blue version of! Thanks Andi!
I turned 28...

My 28th birthday cake.

I surpassed my goal of 356 sales in my SHOP before my 1 year Etsyversary (pat myself on the back).
Oh, and my end of the year sale is still going on until tonight! Receive a 25% discount with code "EndofYearSale." I know, I'm so creative.

We became homeowners!

The San Francisco Giants won the World Series!

My family found out we're adding a little girl to the mix...

There she is sucking her thumb.
These were just some of the highlights, and there were some not so happy moments, but I'm thankful for those too.

So, bye bye 2010 and welcome 2011.  I can't wait to see what's in store!

Hope everyone has a safe and Happy New Years!

End of Year Festivities & Baby Bump

So far, the closing of 2010 has been amazing!  To make it even better, I'm having a 25% off SALE in my SHOP! (Just use code "EndofYearSale" to receive your discount.)

This past Christmas was simply one of the best.  Both my family and my in-laws gathered at our new home to celebrate my little brother turning eighteen, to exchange gifts, and just to spend time with one another.  Then, my family took a short trip to Las Vegas, where there was surprisingly many fun activities for kids.

I can't believe my little brother turned 18 and my son is about to turn 2!

His favorite Christmas gift was this Curious George jack in the box from my brother and sister.

Some more of my spoiled son's spoils, including an antique cash register I got for him. ahha.

My family at Vegas and my baby bump at 20 weeks. This is the first family picture we've taken in years!

White lions at the Mirage's garden exhibit.  Loved it!

Forgot which aquarium this was in front of.  There are so many aquariums at Vegas.

The dolphin exhibit at Mirage.  We were so close!

Love this picture!

Two white tigers sleeping.

Hope everyone has a great New Years!

Hard to Let Go

There are some sales I look back on and I completely do miss having those certain vintage items hanging in my closet, ready to look at.  These were the bittersweet sales- the sales that I was extremely excited about, yet actually groaned out loud because I would not be able to gaze and admire them whenever I wanted.

Here are my top 5 bittersweet sales of 2010, and wouldn't you know it, most are dresses from the 50s- my favorite!  At least I still have pictures to look at.

This dress was absolutely my favorite and had little sparkles with an attached crinoline. It sold within the hour- sigh.

This dress with matching bolero had the most hearts in my shop and it finally found a new, good home today.  Happy, but sad to see it leave!

I really considered keeping this dress, but my ever growing belly and my lack of knowledge of the future prevented me from doing so.  I wouldn't want to keep it and then realize I couldn't fit into it after the birth of my 2nd child.

This Lanz dress had the cutest print of wedding bells, a church, and a bride and groom.

I was planning on wearing this amazing Alix of Miami chiffon dress to a wedding because it's gorgeous and actually fit perfectly!  I decided to list it anyway, but it sold within 10 minutes.  I literally yelled out loud. My fault.

There are so many more, but these have to be my top 5 that were hard to let go.

Christmas Crafts and Good News!

I had no idea that my son would grow up so fast, and with another one on the way, I want to capture every little family/mother-son moment we have!  So, we just ended our Holiday Class and it was so much fun!  The last class was a special class jam packed with holiday activities and crafts. Take a look!

By the way, we're adding a little GIRL to the family and we couldn't be more thrilled!
I just never thought having a daughter was in the cards for me, but I always hoped, and yay!

A decorated pinecone.  Just add a little paint and some glitter
and you've got yourself a pretty decorative piece!

Gingerbread cookie madness!

The instructor is quite inventive.  That's tupperware for the base
and we just used frosting to stick the graham crackers and all kinds
of other sugary and weird treats. Jonah's favorite was the goldish snacks.

He's supposed to be painting the angel, but he kept on painting
the football player on the newspaper instead.

Daddy joined us for the last class and lunch!

Jonah had lots of fun and is very excited for his little sister.
Actually, this is him practicing his "smile" face. We need to work
on him opening his eyes.

Children are so precious and I feel so blessed!

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Pregnancy Suits Some People

Pregnancy suits some people...like Audrey Hepburn.  Isn't she gorgeous? She's probably in her last trimester here.  My belly's about that big right now, and I'm only 4 1/2 months!

Funny story while I was at an estate sale this past weekend.  This nice woman was with her daughter browsing the massive amounts of vintage clothing and this is the conversation that took place:

Woman: You have such a cute baby bump there.
Me: No I don't. I'm huge!
Woman: Oh, no you're not. How far along are you?
Me: 4 months.
Woman in disbelief: OH!
Me: Sigh. Yep.
Woman trying to cover up the shock in her face: Well, um, is it your first?
Me: No. My second.
Woman: Oh, that's why.

I thought it was comical.   Anyhow, finding out the gender (hopefully) on Monday.  Very excited!!

Scenes from a Monday Afternoon

Just another Monday where I'm hang drying my pink toned vintage clothes
that I soaked for more than a day.

The dress that's been hanging on my dress form, in my bedroom since Saturday.
It's just so pretty to look at.

Some vintage books and non-vintage books along with some
vintage pair of vases I purchased from WhiteWillowVintage.

Our simple, fake Christmas tree.  I actually prefer the fake ones.
 It's just easier maintenance!

The first Christmas ornament my son's ever made- the white tree, not the bow or red one.

Some of the pile of little girl's vintage clothing that's been washed
and is now ready to be ironed and steamed.

How's everyone else's Monday going so far?

Help! I'm So Impulsive!

So, I've been thinking about selling vintage children's clothing, since I enjoy selling vintage women's clothing, but I never mustered enough energy to actually do it.

I attended a vintage appointment today of a lady who saved pretty much every single clothing from the 40s to the present.  She had 3 daughters and she seemed to have kept all their pretty little vintage dresses, also, and I just couldn't resist.  Maybe it's my hormones or maybe I really want a daughter, but I just bought a whole bunch of little girl vintage dresses and they are just the most adorable things!

The problem is, I don't have a daughter (yet) and I'm not sure whether I should open up a new Etsy shop or just add a little toddler section to my existing Etsy SHOP.  I would really appreciate your ideas and opinions!

Seriously, any advice would be appreciated!
